The figure of Christ or God with spread arms is famous as a symbol of Vung Tau, which is positioned on the summit of a high mountain riverside the sea. Con Dao Prison is Vietnam’s largest and oldest prison. This location is also known as “hell on Earth” because of its extensive prison system, which includes the tiger cage, cow barn, Phu Hai camp, Ma Thien Lanh bridge, Lo Voi department, and salt department. Thousands of Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers and patriots were imprisoned and punished during the Con Dao prison system’s 113-year existence (1862-1975).
